Passport to Paradise

I painted this at the end of a long, cold Virginia winter while the snow was still melting in the front yard. It gave me a longing for the heat of a tropical sun on my back and the sparkle of the Caribbean Sea in my eyes. This scene called to mind our summer vacations spent on St. John, St Thomas and Cooper Island in the British Virgin Islands.....only a passport stamp away.
